One day, while browsing through a clothing store, I noticed a familiar face. Curious, I walked to the woman. “Are you Jiya from the St. Xavier College 2010 batch?” I asked.
With a hint of hesitation, she confirmed, “Yes, I am Jiya. And if my memory is correct, you too were in the same batch?”
Recalling our college days, I suggested we grab a cup of coffee. During our chat, I noticed Jiya’s unease as she kept covering her face. Initially, she declined my invitation, saying that she had an important task, but after a bit of persuasion, she agreed.
As we walked towards the café at the far end of the mall, I tried to make Jiya feel more comfortable. Slowly gaining her trust, I gently asked what was bothering her.
